The Last Winter Day?

It was -12C (10F) this morning.  A bit chilly....

but here's the good news!

Today is supposed to be the very last 'below zero' (32F) day!

Hoooooooorrrray~~!

Icy snow banks on the pavement are almost gone.

Today should be the last day to have matching coats! :) :)

Can't wait spring!!!

Every once in a while, we find some stickers on our bodies.

They don't harm us so we don't mind....

Today I think I look like my sissy.

I got Blenheim Spot!

There is nothing wrong with it, brudder

but I am tri-colour cavalier.  I got two spots on my eyebrows already.  ;)

Homemade snacks

 March could be 'spring' but this year, 

Nope!

Nothing to do at home, humans made more

homemade snacks.

This day, they made

Wholewheat Walnut-Cranberry Biscotti.

Our brudder whisked eggs and vanilla and just about to add to flour

mixture.

This is easy!

Mom and bro made two loaves and baked them for 25 minutes. 

Then mom sliced them and bake them again.

 Finally, they are ready!

Thanks, Bro!

A few days ago, mom realized Bananas and zucchinis were aging badly.

We can't waste them!

So.... they made Wholewheat Banana Zucchini Bread.

"Z is for zucchini!"

Bro~, you are not supposed to sample so much!

Done!  

March Break kicks in!  We're sure we'll have more

homemade snacks this week.

The Endless Winter

Grrrrr.....it's back.  

Feels Like -26C (-15F) this morning. 

Freezing weather is here again.

I am always ready for fetch but when can we go?

What can we do in the rest of winter?

Me... Momo has a good idea!

Why don't we hibernate?

Recently our brudder said bye-by to his baby teeth

Mini Quiches Nite!

This was taken about ten days ago when we had tons of snow.

Sidewalks were frozen!! We didn't do walkies at all.

Our brudder didn't mind our backyard ice rink but we did!

It was freezing to pee!

Today we can say (no pic!)...

Finally all the ice is gone.  

Hoooray!

We were bored so as humans.

They decided to make Mini Veggie Quiches. 

Not a bad idea!  :) :)

He helped mom to roll out the crusts and cut out to circles.

Then he placed the fillings and poured the egg mixture into crusts in the tins.

Our brudder was very happy to finish his job!

Well done!

40 minites later.

After another 30 minutes of long wait to cool them down...

It was really really good!

Mom forgot to publish our post last night

and guess what?

Snow comes back this morning!!!  

Me...Pinot got a new frisbee. Yay!

Good bye 2013!

How did we end the year 2013?

Of course, with a good food. 

Daddy's pizza!

Our fridge was almost empty and humans didn't feel like picking up groceries

on a very cold evening.

So he made a pizza using remaining food, tomatoes, anchovies,

Gorgonzola and Onion.

This simple recipe was so good!

Pinot doesn't like hanging out around the oven but I, Momo, do!

There is often something yummy in it!

"Is it ready soon daddy?"

First we had a sample size of pizza!

We don't mind to get a bit bigger pieces!

'Do trick, Momo and Pinot' commanded daddy.

"Down~"

Then daddy's baguette was ready!

'Inhale..... deeply'

We started a blog in 2006 and we only changed its layout

ONCE!!!

So mom finally made a teeny tiny change, background colour!

Christmas Fiesta after power outrages.

*** Toronto Ice Storm 2013 ***

Our Christmas decoration was ready.

We thought we would have pawfect Christmas.

But the ice storm hit Toronto on the 20th. 
The freezing rain from the storm knocked down many large trees.

So many branches broken off, damaged parked cars on the streets
 and cut our power supplies.

Not everyone was suffered by the power cut but 
we were one of not-so-lucky 300,000 who lost power.

Welcome to Icy World! 

Streets and backyards were all frozen!  They turned into skating rinks.

Two live wires had downed on the sidewalks near us.  
The road was closed.

It's too slippery and cold.  No thanks for walky!

We had no electricity for three days but our pawrents 
tried to make the most of it. 

It was -12C (10 F) outside but we had a cozy evening 
with brudder in front of the fire place.

This is the first time for all of us to relax here.

Fortunately, the power was back on around 3pm

on the 24th!

This is Christmas Day.

Chef Daddy was preparing our dinner.
Yay!

This is our favourite broccoli, cauliflower and Leek Caserole.

Then our brodder and mom started making dessert.

We got to sample classic Vanilla Bean We-Scream.

Can you hear our drooooling its sizzling sound ?

Preparation took a bit of time.  I felt asleep while watching

snow.  Hey, it's White Christmas~!

Done!!

As usual, tons of meals for a small family!  :D :D

(Top) Steamed Veggies (snow peas, baby carrots & Brussels sprouts.)  

Roasted Rutabaga with Balsamic Vinegar.

(Centre) Stuffings with Crimini mushroom, walnuts, dried fruits and wild rice.

Scallops with white wine sauce and Gorgonzola

(Bottom) Casserole.

Garlicky tri-coloured Mini Potatoes, Crimini mushroom & Leeks.

Salmon filet and salmon sausages cooked in the BBQ.

Our dinner was served first.

Then, humans.

Everything was yummy and we were so stuffed.
