Hello and Happy New Year, everyone!
We hope you had a pawtastic holiday season.
We finished yummy birdy from Christmas a while ago but we know there still tons of Christmas goodies in the cover. Besides, there is a Christmas pudding which we haven't touched in the fridge. We wonder when our humans will have a bite .
(Christmas photos will be posted shortly.)
Three pawty animals (↓)on New Years Eve. Hold on, there must be one more...
hehehe....
*** Show your respect to REAL hard working animals! ***
Does this really mean you're a fully trained service dog, Bodhi??
Recently one news caught our attention and we want to bark about!
Q: How do you register a service animal?
A: In many countries, THE approved program register their dogs (animals)
as a service dog (animal).
In a few others such as the United States, it's not very clear.
Ok, first of all, we googled about 'Service Animals'.
ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) states---
Service animals are animals that are individually trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities such as guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling wheelchairs, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, or performing other special tasks. Service animals are working animals, not pets.
Ok, this is something most of us believes, no doubt!
But there is a tricky part. There are NO standards or procedures for certifying a service animal under federal law. Therefore you can easily find private companies who does have official sounding names and they would certify or register your 'service animal'. They usually provide you a registration number (on their database), certificate, patch, a laminated tag
and maybe more.
??????
This means basically anyone can claim themselves as a disabled pawson then register their 'companion' as a 'service animal' for whatever pawsonal reasons.
Check this out! NSAR - National Service Animal Registry
Mmmmm.......??? You mean a bus or subway?
All you have to do in the cyber world is super simple.
STEP 1: You (yes, YOU) confirm that you have some types of disabilities.
No medical documents required.
STEP 2: You pawsonaly confirm to NSAR that your dog can fulfill MOST of the listed
criteria such as 'sit on command' or 'down on command'.
STEP 3: Payment process!
NSAR kindly remind you that you don't have to be blind or deaf to register.
The other thing they emhpasize is that you can accompany your 'service animal' into stores, restaurants, hotels, or on airline flights (for no extra cost), but to successfully qualify for housing where pets aren't allowed.
Sounds like this is the actual purpose for registration?!?!?
Their 'Complete Service Animal Certification Kits' is available for only $64.95.
What do you think?
Something doesn't sound right to us.
******* Morning Walky in the snow ******
Yesterday, January 4th must be a first day at work or school for many humans.
Our human pup brudder wasn't the exception. His schedule went back to normal
and we had a morning walky with mom.
We were excited but the weather didn't treat us that well.

Yeeepeeee you boys are well on the "bridge" again and what you told me is soooooo funny - but the world - sorry - the humans - mostly make such fatal things ...oh...I can´t believe this. So - to all of you Happy and healthy New Year. Here we still have all over soooooo much snow since 6 weeks - more than my humans ever saw here in their life.
Today is the first day with a little bit rain - temperature is raising - and no snow... is falling down!!
So long

Looks like it is really cold there. Glad you had a nice Christmas and New Year. We can't understand how any company can get away with such shoddy "standards" to register a "service dog." The real ones have to go through training and certification.
We want to be service dogs so we can go everywhere with our hoomans!
Mom says that Christmas pudding would already be history at our house. yummmmmm
Love ya lots
