It's freeeeeezing here!!!
A few days ago, mom heard that the very icy temperature was supposed to
hit Eastern Canada the following day.
She didn't think we would enjoy our walky if the temperature is below -20C (14F)
so she took us for a long walky while the temperature was still -10C (14 F).
"Brrrrrrr...........-10C is cold enough!"
The average temperature around this time is -2C (high) and -10C (low)
so this is an 'extreme'! :(
I, Momo wasn't so excited but touched by a bootiful sunset. Pinot found a giant ball and was about to investigate.
Thanks mom but an hour walky was long enough. :(
BTW....
"Can you tell if this is Momo or Pinot????" :)
Lately our human pup's pediatrician gave our mom and dad go ahead to introduce
him some special food called 'solid food'.
"The solid food???"
To mark his 5 month barkday, mom and dad gave it a try.
Yes, our humans love to celebrate. hehe..
Dad's big camera and a camcorder were ready to shoot the moment! :D
Mom mixed rice cereal and some milk.
"Hey, the solid food doesn't look solid!!!"
Mom had three possible scenarios before feeding to James.
Scenario #1: He would not open his mouth.
Scenario # 2: He would lick it and spit it.
Scenario # 3: He would say "No thanks!"
The result was ..........
tada~
Surprisingly he had no hesitation. He ate full two table spoons of very watery cereal.
We didn't know human pups don't eat food until this age.
"We doggies are more independent!!"
"Give me more, mom and dad!"

Oh no Momo, that is way too cold although it sounds preferable to the sweltering heat we had a few days ago.....unbearable it was!

Look at little James. He is growing and now he's eating solids...what a big boy.

hi :) (from maggie the cavalier in indiana)......

-----------------------------------

I was wondering how you get your awesome doggies to stay so well on walks without leashes? The cavalier's tendency is to run after and chase things....I noticed in your pictures when you guys are in the park they are always off leash (which is awesome!) but I could never do that with my Maggie - she chases birds and chimpunks, anything. And when she chases it's like her ears "turn off" and she doesn't hear anything.....she's even run across the road a couple times (luckily there were no cars coming at the time - she scared me to death). now, she is only allowed off leash in the back yard when we are present and never in the front yard (too close to the road). She is an amazing dog, it's just that when the "chase instinct" kicks in, she acts like she is alone in the world with whatever she is chasing and she hears nothing else and sees nothing else.

I would love, so much, to be able to let her run free like your little ones get to....but I can't trust her.

I'm just wondering how you got to that point with your cavaliers in being able to let them run?

(my email is wagnershauna@gmail.com)

thanks so much, and again. I love seeing all the pictures of your doggies (I feel like I know them!)

Your human brother is a cutie. Umm, not sure if it's better to have -2C or 42C. That's what we had 2 days ago. Now it's a pleasant 18-22C with some sun and light winds - quite the perfect day. My SS has been quite bizzy writing papers and preparing for a project in Yunnan. Therefore I have been a little slack with visiting and blogging.

You keep warm, OK?

You are having the same weather as my place, way, way, way too cold.
I think the photo taken on the walk was of Pinot? He is getting big now so it was really hard to tell. He is catching up with Momo.
It is good that the baby is eating some solid foods now, it will even get better when he can feed himself and drop or throw food on the floor. What you two need to do is position yourself when he is feeding himself, you will get lots of extra good food to eat!

Holy feasting! Does your human brother share his feasts with you? We think he may be eating super growth food or something. Before you know it he may be as big as... as big as... your DAD!!

He may be able to PICK YOU UP!

My mind is blown.

Hey, Momo & Pinot!

I think that that is Momo in the photo where you can't see which of you it is!

That photo of Baby James looking up at your dad is funny. We noticed he had his foot propped up on the counter in the last photo. He's a very laid back guy, huh?

Stay warm!

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

Momo & Pinot,

It's been cold here where I live too! I'm starting to get used to it. My mom and dad get nervous because I've been staying out in the backyard for long times and they think I'm freezing but I'm doing pretty good. That human baby James is really CUTE! Did you get to finish the rest of his cereal???

Hey pups! This whole "solid food" thing is going to be great for you too. Pretty soon James will be walking around and dropping Cheerios and Goldfish as he goes and you'll have to clean up after him :-)
